What version of Linux should I give my grandparents?
Ok, The laptop they're getting isn't that new, and I don't know the specs of the lappy but they're getting it to look at Facebook and the Atlantic Lottery Corporation. I will be partitioning the hard drive to suit my chaotic little needs and to provide them with just above minimal standards needed to run whatever Linux OS you suggest. My grandparents are in their 70s almost and have never used a computer before in their lives, I doubt they've even used a typewriter.
The laptop is my cousins, which she got a good 5 or 6 years ago. The specs won't be that great. And I am unsure of the actual specs.
Technically, any laptop that has a web browser should be fine. Ubuntu, which is a popular distro, would probably run on it, as long as it has at least 256 MB of RAM. If you are especially worried about performance, try Xubuntu instead.
