typing test on typewriter?
I have a typing test on typewriter for Govt job next month and I am really afraid because of my speed. Though in computer I have 40 – 50 (approx ) speed. But on typewriter I am having only around 20-25 wpm with lots of mistake and the requirement is 30wpm . I am using typewriter after long period of time. When I start speeding up it ended to spelling mistakes. Please advice me how can I improve my typing speed without mistake (how can I control my fingers without touching other alphabets). What kind of pattern comes on test and for what duration? Experienced people and who have thorough knowledge please suggest.
Record your start time. Type the sentence
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
50 times using your manual typewriter.
Record your end time. Compute the typing speed.
And check the number of errors made.
Repeat process until you achieve the desired typing
speed and an acceptable error rate.
